VDC light comes on

Hi,
My 2013 D40 VDC light comes on when i go to low range, is the correct?

Hey Shane, Welcome to the forum. That's excatly how my 4lo has always worked. Depending on where I'm driving (say it's up a sandy hill),when in 4hi, I hit the button to turn off the VDC aswell

Thanks for your reply , I'm still learning this system so even when you are in hi range you turn off your VDC?

As far as I'm aware of the way it works, VDC will limit power when wheels start to slip - Im not sure if it brakes as well or limits the power to the individual wheel.. ( That second part definitely sounds a little fancy , so please dont take this all as gospel)
I know that the power limiter (again- say up a sandy hill) will hinder your ability to make it up easily so at that time I'll turn the VDC off or go 4LO..

To answer your question, No - I useally let the car do what it is until I know that I'll need that little bit of extra spin/ bounce to get up
