Has anyone removed the catalytic converter using these DIY kits?

That's a DPF delete pipe, not cat removal.

you need to be carefull when not having a cat convertor fitted to your vehicle as it is illegal and you could face high fines if caught. the safest way is to buy a Free Flow Cat which is a none restrictive convertor and no performance is lost. this way you just take off the stock cat and replace it with the good free flowing cat.
