Transmission problem

Hi guys hope you can help I've got a 2006 auto d40 that has do drive in any gear D R 3 2 1 all no movement just revs and it doesn't feel like it's engaging a gear I've drained and changed the transmission fluid and also had the valve body off and cleaned that I'm now wondering if a solenoid is burnt out/dead any advice welcome really don't want to tow it to a garage and get stung on price

It could be the torque converter doing a full slip. It could be a blockage in the pump (driven by the input shaft). It could be in the valving, something not releasing ... if the truck is on level ground, can you put it in neutral, release the handbrake and push the thing about a metre forward or backward? Maybe the parking pawl has jammed and it's unable to actually release from park?

Might be easier to just drop a second hand box in out of a wreck.

My philosophy is basically that the car couldn't become a wreck if its gearbox wasn't working ...
