hi all i picked up a holden Colorado space cab rear wellbody and had a heap of steel just sitting there taking up space. went and invested in some trailer bits and here is where im up to. still have to attach the rest of the draw bar, fit the hitch and brakes, make the duel wheel carrier, wire it and paint it. ive got to find 3 str wheels for it. i did the frame on the wellbody and dummied up the springs and axle and it should have somewhere between 500-530 mm from the centre of the axle to the bottom of the wheel flare. my navara with 2 inch lift is 550mm.

:rock::rock: WOW!

Great to see someone is thinking like me. I'm watching a couple of Navara trays on ebay for between $300-$500, with the intention of turning it into a trailer.

I thought it probably would be easier though for me to take the tray to a trailer place and get them to make up the frame/axles etc to suit. Always wanted to tow a Navara trailer behind the Navara:big_smile:

yeah thats what i originally wanted to do but i missed out on a black str tray, i only got the colorado one because a: it was cheap and b: its longer than the navara tray. i may paint it blue and silver to match my nav would have to debadge it..... embarrassing having anything with a holden badge on it. eventually it will get a false floor for storage, water tank, aux. battery, and pull out bbq. will foam the false floor and put a canvas canopy with pull out annexes for camping. should work well for the fishing trips. if all the family come along i'll take the 9 man tent for them and have the trailer for myself. sweet.:rock:

a few more pics, draw bars done and brakes fitted. all thats left is the spare wheel carriers, set up the brakes and paint it then the well body can go on.:top:

Heres a few more pics, spare wheel carriers are done and brakes hooked up, added a work light, all thats left is to make the mounts for the jack and paint it, then i can mount the well body on and license it. Then i'll start kitting it out and build the framing for the canopy.
