During our recent trip to Cape York this year, we witnessed two vehicles shit the whiskers in very simular circumstances as the Patrol at Nolan’s Brook on the Old Telegraph Track.

When we arrived at the BP service station at Bamaga we were advised that 28 vehicles so far this year had already been sunk at Nolan’s Brook. When we left a week later, the number was 31.

What was totally staggering was the fact that over half that were written off did not have insurance. If your mate's could not recover you. The recovery cost aloan was over a $1,000.00 just to be towed to Bamaga.
