That happened down here and they killed the officer. Now serving time in jail. Personally I think they should have just been shot when found guilty.

That is cool as. I never knew that that had happened and I always thought it would be cool to see an F1 go around the Mt. Next would be a GP bike.

Apparently it was an 06 spec car so it wasn't even the best they could offer up. Was interesting to see Lowndes only a second or so behind Buton in the F1 but Buton 6 seconds off Lowndes in the V8.

Yeah, a massive effort from Lowndes, but to be fair to Button he knows the track pretty damn well. there's no substitute for local knowledge. i read somewhere that the car was also only tuned to 85%. not sure if that's true or not, but i cant see them handing over a current spec race tuned car for a media stunt.

Track knowledge perhaps....Bathurst is not an easy track to learn. Neither is an F1 car I suppose but I reckon Lowndes knows where the walls are.
