Hi All, anyone know what I need to do to sort this out:

When I first start truck and try to turn steering wheel the power assist seems to work intermittently sort of a judder effect.
After a couple of minutes all seems fine.
She does squeal a bit on full lock both directions.
Steering fluid is full, 1st thing I checked. Is it worth changing this out?
I twisted the belt goes 90' is that tight enough, could it be slipping on startup and then gtripping better as it warms up?

Or am i looking at a bigger more expensive issue?

It could be a dirty pump, but I'd not bet a lot on that one. The squeal usually points to a slipping belt but could equally be failing bearings in the pump itself. Damaged bearings might "behave" better when warmer, as might the belt.

Try spraying the shaft of the pump with WD40 prior to starting the cold engine and see if that's fixed it. If it has, the pump might need to be replaced (of course, you would check that belt anyway).
