Having a good drive around today with no trailer, the boost does feel like its kicking in, 0 to 60 still seems ok , I keep up with traffic, but from 60kph to 100kph seems to be the problem. Ive got a few battery's, canopy, steel roof rack, 2 tyres on the roof and just slightly bigger tyres, 267/75/16. Is it possible all the crap on the roof could make this big a difference?

265/75/16 make a noticeable difference to pickup, i,ve been running that size for 12 months now. i had reason to stick my old rims and tyres back on the nav for the last few weeks 265/70/16 and it felt like it had so much more get up and go

Yeap. 100% they will.
I'll be needing a chip when I fit the 33's

Gadgets,
I timed mine yesterday and got 26sec to 100km/hr. Either I have a slow Nav too or they are both just normal!
I think mine is running fine considering it current mods. I do have a snorkel, chip, large exhaust and small intercooler which help liven things up but I also have a canopy, 265/75 muddies, mild suspension lift, dual batteries and tool boxes which I'm pull it up a bit.
I'm sure I could do better than 26seconds but this time was done with a full tank of fuel and my wife and baby in car so I just went up through the gears as normal ;)
Remember these machines aren't race cars! I try to mod mine to improve its capability off road and towing rather than focusing on its quarter mile time!

Thanks for that, I dont actually care about the speed of it, I just wanted to make sure it was running normally for a nav with a few mods. Will be blocking the egr next week at last I think.

yeah navs aren't meant for speed, but 20+ sec. doesn't seem right
here's a vid of my stock 2.5ltr with 245/75 16

thats 10-100km/h plus we all have ZD30's not YD25's and 265/75 tyres which are a bit bigger than 245/75.

And remember with our 265/75 tyres - 100km/hr on the dash is actually pretty damn close to 100km/hr real time. The smaller tyres will give a false indication of speed.

I used my gps for the speed check. When Im doing 100kph its actually 105kph

Hey mate stress less mine is slower than yours. I checked mine today was nearly 29 secs till 100. That's with a bit of gear in the back reving out to 3 grand max. But I've got 285/75/16 which slow it up. Plus bull bar winch aux battery. But would be quicker if I reved it to 4500 like old mate in the video. I seem to remember a thread how fast is your nav or something which was how long to 100 ks but I couldn't find it.

Bloody hell, a car slower than mine at last! It seems like the bigger tyres are the real killer. When I checked my speed I also changed gear at around 3500rpm, not much more seems to happen after that.
For fun I might check my 0to100kph with my work trailer hooked up. I reckon it will take over a minute.

Wouldn't the 3 ltr go better than 2.5 with more power and tourqe?

I have owned both the 2.5L and 3L, actually sold the 2.5 for a 3.0L, the 2.5 is slower off the mark but revs heaps quicker so gets up to 100kph noticeably faster than the 3.0L (from memory was about 12 seconds) but I can take off easily in 2nd gear in the 3L and its less likely to die from something like bad fuel out in a remote servo whereas the 2.5 struggles to take off in first gear let alone second. In my mind the 3.0L is the better motor for a 4by or tow vehicle the 2.5L is better if you do mostly city and sealed road driving.

Horses for courses though both are very good motors.

Here's mine.
It seems fine up to 80k's then just slows considerably.

Chip and exhaust go in soon, ill refilm it and see if it makes much difference

Thats almost the exact same as mine, 80 to 100kph is really really slow.
