I cleared out the nav yesterday and checked the 0-100kph time. 27seconds, I knew it was slow but not this bad. Ive owned the car for a few years with no problems. I dont really care too much about it as its mainly used to tow my work trailer and it does it ok. Just wondering if I should be looking for anything restricting performance?

If I was to guess my 06 3.0L does 0-100 in about 15-17s I think the number of gear changes required slows it down a bit, my truck only has 65000km on it though.

27 seconds is the same as a solid axle hilux with 2.8 diesel :S

Ya, I expected 18ish seconds but got no where near it, its never time for a rebuild already is it? Its only done 240000ks but most of them were working hard with a trailer so maybe its aging quicker than most.

I doubt it, have you run any injector cleaner through while you have owned it? maybe just start with the basics new filters as well.

ur car will only go as quick as it gets fuel and air in. I'd be checking those and running cleaner thru it, a reset on the computer might do the trick too..

wow thats slow!, my d22 does it in 11-12 sec. apart from injectors, check the boost pressure..

Mines much the same, except i have run injector cleaner thought it, every 5th tank, every 2nd service is done myself so i know its all done, and its running 15 pound of boost when i last checked it. 220 000 km on the clock. Tried disconecting the boost sensor to see if it made any difference and it was a bit more sluggish. Will be watching this thread.

Mines had injector cleaner through it every 6 or seven tanks of fuel almost its whole life, no black smoke or anything.
I dont have a boost gauge, can a mechanic check the boost levels easily ?

Boost sensor can cause a good running navara with now power ... Can u feel boost kick in?

Ya I can feel boost kick in, now that I think about it, maybe not, I used to always feel it kick in but lately it seems alot more gradual boost(maybe no boost).

I had a wastgate problem on an older 4x4 I owned that seemed similar, might have to see how to check that out too

Without a catch can and EGR block and that many kms it could be the manifold and head are full of crud, starving it of air.

Someone once posted pics of the crap they cleaned out.

my brother drives a WRX with a EGR system, he has a aerosol can that he sprays into the engine (somewhere) to clean out the carbon build up. might be worth checking out. no air = no power

Any diesel mechanic should have a boost guage that they can hook up and take it for a drive, takes about 5 mins.

I disconnected the boost sensor, but felt a slight power difference, nothing over the top , does that mean its faulty. I can hear the turbo boost to.

A failed boost sensor will make the car run well but absolutely no power will go like a 2.8 hilux diesel
