You know thats the funny thing.

When we went to Landcruiser Park last year, we took an extra 20 ltrs petrol as I was sure we would need it just for the tracks. 2 days of driving around in low range etc, and the the V6 used bugger all, I was amazed.

(Must have a full tank first of course :sarcastic:)
We're going to bring Leela with us tomorrow as well so we can check out the camping sites for another trip in a few weeks time. (Leela is our G/Shepherd, shes a good girl )

Ok, well we will be heading down the highway early, and be at the gatesoffice etc around 8.30am. Bringing along our butane burner stove to make snags on bread for lunch, yum. UHF 21, will have to check them tonight too.

Ok, well im at scenic rim right now, ifyouve got a lift, i recommend the 4wd entry into the park, otherwise, hit up the regular one. We're at campsite 1, which is right across from the office, so come look us up when you get here (you have to go past us to get into the park!)

Im with 3, but im using tekstra reception most likely, so its going to sting the backpocket, but whatever. The weather is good, a few tracks are closed due to black mud, apparently they just spent 2 days recovering a vehicle out of it. The hills are pretty rutted, but i dont know for sure, didnt get here early enough to go on a tour.

Time for some sleep now though, see yall in the morning!

Already on it mate! Got some footage of me going down the rutted hillsto get into the joint :)

I hate you....!!!!!!!! NA only joking

But I'm jealous ......Wish I didn;t have this stupid party to go to tomorow night ...... I would be camping also:(

Don't worry about it Steve, looks like there may be a Landcruiser Park run on next month, where we definatley WILL be staying over. Looking forward to that one.

Saturdays run for us will mainly be a check out the tracks/camping project for us. Really want to do some camping soon.

Got a few photos up on my facebook page from the trip out...and the injuries sustained...

QNaD Scenic Rim Trip 19/02/2011 | Facebook

In short, it was a pretty awesome day out amongst the hills and ruts and great big sharp pointy rocks. Very much enjoyed by all. as far as i know i came away with the worst injury to my truck... i gouged a hole in my rear diff (it leaked diff oil!)...which i quickly fixed with some Quiksteel Epoxy. i highly recommend that every single one of your boys on this forum get out there and buy a tube or two of this stuff...it's only like $10, and may just save you when you're out bush. i know I'll go and pick up a few more tubes of the stuff! I would also recommend that you grab some muffler tape as well...i was looking to put something over my repair just to save it from washouts and other things.

So yeah....now i need to look for a rear diff bash-plate!

Well. I am adding rock sliders to my priority list. My drivers side step is hanging on by a thread.

Great weekend though. Joe after you left we attempted that hill you made look easy. Both go up ok.

Thats on my list too Russell. Bash plates + sliders. And after Peter had that encounter with the tree yesterday and folded the std rear bar into the bodywork, (same as I did a few months ago), a nice steel ARB rear bar is going on.

Just have to work out how to pay for it all

the big twin track hill you did well mate, it was a bloody hard one, not everyone got it done yesterday. got photos or vids of you doing it? be nice to see what line approach you took. It was good to see how front locker and rear lockers worked on that hill.

edit. hanging out for vid footage of the cars we had trying that hill yesterday. was great fun just frustrating lol
