i went to start the car this morrning knowing i have just put a new battery in there and it wouldnt start :confused3::angry: so i called the guy that i bought the battery off and he sent me another so i took the old one back to him. he told me to see a auto elec so i did. he checked the alternater is charging at 14.00volts so is fine (thats what he said) but here is somthing draning the battery and i dont know what it is and he couldent find ether. dont know what to do. the thing i have put on are the spotties, a rear light and two plugs in the tub. any idea what to do?

How long does it take to drain your battery? Do you have relays to the plugs in the tub?

I'm not sure if they do or don't, I got them wired in from tjm. It takes the battery about 2-3 days to drain but the car still will kick over but won't start.

If you can't find the problem with a multimeter, you could disconnect those plugs in the tub fitst and go from there,

check by getting a clamp meter to check if and how much current draw there is for starters..(with everthing off)

I'd start with Krankin's advice. You could put the meter on the negative battery cable and see how much current draw there is.

Car batteries can still pump out enough amps to crank the engine over even if there's not enough volts to run the ECU (which is needed to open the injectors and get everything going).

I'd immediately suspect the cables to the tub in the rear. Mine are not active unless the ignition is on - and I have a thermal circuit breaker to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Also check that you don't have anything permanently on in the cabin, like a two-way radio.
