Hi Guys
I have a 2003 nissan nav str 3 ltr turbo for some reason the oil light stays on a little longer than it should on enginge start up. The car has regular oil changes and flters , using valvoline semi syn oil approx 198000 ks on speedo does any one have a solution to this problem:

How longs to long? Mines probably 4 secs first thing in the morning.
The pressure switch isn't next to the oil pump so the oil has to travel thru all the galleries before it reaches where the switch is.
Once its been run the galleries are full so on the next start it goes off straight away but left long enough the oil drains back to the sump.

did you use a different oil filter this time, some oil filters mainly cheap ones dont have an anti drain back valve. all the oil drains out and has to be pumped back in hence it takes longer to build pressure. Not a good thing. If you have used the same filter as usual maybe the drain back valve is a dud or jammed.
Oil filter is the first place id start as its cheap to check and will take five minutes

ZD30s are a replaceable element not a standard style filter so i don't think there is a anti drain back valve which is why they take a while for the light to go out.
