New alternator not charging

I just bought a trump auto alternator from eBay. It's a 100 amp clutch pulley type. There doesn't appear to be any output, 12 volts and doesn't change when increasing rpm's. The original 60 amp works fine charging at 14+ volts. It is a non clutch pulley type. Would there be any reason why the new clutch pulley alternator won't work or could it be faulty. Must I replace it with the standard pulley for any reason, are there any other differences?

does your existing alternator have a clutch pulley ? if not you should not have one on the new alternator. swap the pulleys over.

It has the standard, I'll swap them and give it a try. I thought the clutch type might be a better option.
