Have a 2006 navara 3 litre turbo , was overtaking a truck when something went pop . I pulled over and it sounded like the exhaust was loose from the manifold so i kept on . It was early sat morning and nothing was open then lots everything in the dash then it started dieing . I stopped for awhile then found out it wouldnt start and got towed home . The truck has only done 122kms .
What am i in for ? and how expensive are turboes ? Also do you guys recommend to send it to the nissan dealer or can any mechanic look at it ..

Bloody oath it should have been towed to Nissan straight away. Any mechanic can look at it but only Nissan can confirm or deny warranty, if Nissan do deny warranty you can take it elsewhere if you don't think the fight is worth it but Nissan should be the ones to look at something that should probably be a warranty job.

Its a 2006 model so warranty has well expired.
Have a look on ebay as turbo's are usually listed for sale, if your handy with a spanner then its worth your while.

Yeah I read 122ks and assumed it was newly bought and would still come with a warranty from the dealer but 122kms should probably be 122,000kms or 122k.

Its well out of warranty . found a pipe that has been broken off from turbo that goes from turbo and goes round back of motor to the other side .
Still everything on dash is blank , any ideas ?
Have rung my nissan dealer twice after hours and havent heard anything yet .

Got it back today , they welded the EGR pipe back on and fired it up and away it went . They found that the park nuetral switch wasnt working , checked wiring to find it burnt out . There must of been a short in the switch at some stage . So they removed and soldered in new wires . $600 later and prob solved
