leaking air filter

howdy . the cover that clips over my air filter seems to have gone out of shape and not seal properly . any one else had this happen ?

Kinda, I lost half the seal in mine and the same clips were not really pulling it all together tight, so some sikaflex to the rescue, pulled out the rest of the foam seal and put the sikaflex in there, put it together let it dry air tight now. Just when changing filters I have to dig the sikaflex out but it comes out pretty easy.

yeh thanks .the seal is all there the cover just doesnt seem to sit where it used to

Pull the metal clips off and put zip ties thru the holes.

Clark rubber. cut some foam to insert into filter box lid.

Better fix using sikka is to take the lid off, clean out the remaining crap, and spread a thin layer where the seal used to be... even it out with your finger, then let it sit overnight to dry, throw it back on.

If done right the clips should hold it on firm, and it will be air tight.

At-least that is working very well for me.
