Hey all. So I was replacing my vacuum hoses and had a bit of a stuff up. The hose that comes over the engine to the boost contol valve is the issue. I broke the pipe on the bcv that the hose goes on. I’ve ordered a new bcv. But my question is can I drive my D40 to work and back until the new one arrives

It will drive, but won't have any turbocharger boost at all, so it will seem very slow. If you have an automatic, you might clog the DPF up a bit too, the car should blow a fair bit of black smoke.

Hey mate thanks for the info. Another question though. So I’ve replaced the boost solenoid and the Ute doesn’t seem right. It’s really loud still and boost don’t kick in till about 3 grand. Have I done something wrong. Do I need to adjust the actuator shaft. All vac lines are in the right spot.

Shouldn't need to adjust the actuator shaft - I believe that should be done while the turbo is hooked up to a test rig, and shouldn't have changed since before you changed the boost solenoid. Sounds more like the boost solenoid isn't doing what it should be doing, when it should. I would double check the hoses are all clear and unkinked.

You must have a vacuum leak if it is boosting but not till high in the rev's, like Marked said check all you vacuum hoses, esp the small one on the MAP sensor on the intercooler they get clogged with blowby, i think if you search you will find full diagram of the locations of all vac hose locations, and if you bought the BCS from ebay good chance it is faulty so dont waste any more money until you have physically checked hoses and the turbo its self

I even paid top dollar for the "name" replacement bcv from the local parts supply store and it was faulty out of the box, so it isn't necessarily just an ebay issue.

Unfortunately even the Goss and other brand ones are dodgy you have to get original Nissan part from Nissan
