New to the group can anyone tell me
A. What is this that has broken ?
B. Is it serious ?
It looks like a vacuum switch possibly ?

The layout of your D40 engine bay is slightly different to mine, I don't have that widget there, I've got the turbocharger output running above the exhaust manifold and the vacuum controller was sitting on the intercooler hard pipe.

What year model is yours, and what are the first three letters of the VIN? We don't need to know the whole VIN.

okay.. so compared to mine

you seem to missing the little plastic control arm..
if im correct, this is part of the egr cooler

this brings up the questions
is your egr blanked?
does the car start?
just before start up - ignition all the way on - do you hear a clicking/popping sound? mine at this point pushes this arm all the way out... does yours move at all?

The car starts and runs fine, the plastic arm has broken, vacuum pump still moves in and out, but where it’s attached to egr cooler it’s doesn’t move if it’s suppose to ? Don’t know if something is stuck ?

You might be able to get it from Nissan, they're wanting about $1300 for it. Aftermarket for the entire unit is a tad under $800 (here) but you might consider asking a wrecker for one.

google search type in egr vacuum modulator model and year of car. if some thing is stuck it will break again.... is it needed if you blank off the egr??

if there are any numbers and letters on it do a google search perhaps add'' actuator '''to search you may be able to craft a piece of flat metal the full length and glue it
