Hard Lid with Red Stripe now "Standard"?

Just picked up my new 2013 D40 ST 4x4 this morning.

Was surprised to see the remote Hardlid they have fitted has two red lines on it, that seem to be stickers. Look really out of place.

Dealer told me these are the standard for hardlids on the D40 now. Looks horrible on white, I think I will try and peel them off.


The lid seems to fit fine. Can anyone confirm the striped hardlids are the standard now?

I thought the red stripes only came with the 550.

Haha the stealer must have a few around off other 550s and gave you a free upgrade lol

my 550 came with the stripes , left mine in the sun and pealed them off ,looks loads better

Haha, I bought my 550 a year ago and the hardcover wasn't standard apparently and the dealer told me the red stripes on the hardcover didn't exist anymore.

I called round, then called the dealer back and said what the hell, he soon then found the right hardcover... I really dislike all dealer ships, always trying to make a buck!

However mine weren't stickers, they were definitely painted on.
I have since sold it and bought a canopy
