Fitting low water & temp sensors

Happy new year all,

I want to install a EngineSaver® low water alarm and a water temperature probe connected to a digital display.

The in line low water sensor will have to go in the top radiator hose, therefore the temp probe will go in an inline adapter in the bottom radiator hose.

Has anyone done this successfully? Any issues with sensing the water temp at the bottom (of the radiator). Any feedback, alternatives and ideas welcome.

What you want is one of these
Radiator hose adaptor-Prosport Gauges Upper radiator hose adaptor

Splice it into your return hose - reads the temp of the water as it leaves the engine rather than the lower hose that reads the temp as it leaves the radiator.
Using something like this you should be able to fit both sender units by drilling and tapping them in.
"Under hose" fitting is far from ideal as it relies on the hose being flexible enough to crush and form a seal around the probe wire and may not adequately seal when under pressure. And thats when you would be grateful for having a low level alarm because it will tell you it just let all the water out

Something else worth considering might be one of these.

Nothing against buying a proven unit from an Australian company but a unit like the one shown above could be used to do exactly the same thing - betcha I can do it for a whole lot less than the off the shelf Engine Saver.
That might be next weeks project
