Definately. But getting that dump off is an art in its own.. I was bothered. Hence paying someone to do it.. After work and gym and the misso and my jam pack weekend I never have time.
I will fit the cooler myself though. But getting my panel beater to do the bonnet scoop :)

Maybe a turbo upgrade with an external gate is on the cards ;).
Big work to be done for that though...

That separator has a single job to do, it allow the exhaust and the turbo-exhaust gases to mix. If you chop it the two lines of exhaust gas will cause a more turbulent mixing right behind the turbo back and have a detrimental effect to performance or something like that.

Why do after market dump pipes do away with it,

Yeah I can understand that for sure....(there has to be a reason why its there)

But,

as above, aftermarket dumps dont have that.

well then, apart from that^...

which then begs the question, if they delete the divider, the new dump is not doing what the original was designed to do .

and therefore illegal?

i'd be interested to see results on different dump/pipe designs and how the exhaust gases escape away in the different designs.

i vaguely remember a post about 'tuned' exhausts and what a proper design for a diesel exhaust should be.

It's like a game of "Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" only in this case the subject looks and sound a bit like Viginia Wolf
