I'm looking for some advice on my Navara d22 yd25. The fan belts broke a few months ago. I replaced the fan and the power steering belts. Trouble is the two belts running the alternator are tensioned unevenly. I tension so that one has 5mm play and the other has 20 and squeals. Any suggestions? I used 2 13 1050mm, reputable brand.

Squealing could be a number of things, I'd try rubbing some Dri-Lube on the belt first and see if that quiets it.

If Dri-Lube doesn't work, then maybe it's an idler bearing or the alternator bearing. A quick spritz with WD40 in the bearing and/or alternator shaft should quiet them but that is NOT the solution - if spraying the idler bearing with WD40 makes it quiet, it means you have to replace that idler bearing. Same for the alternator.
