Hi all,
I stupidly shorted out the battery by connecting the positive to the negative and the negative to the positive. 30secs later I realised when I could smell a burning sensation. Anyway an auto electrician has looked at it and says that everything is ok. Problem is now that the clutch and brake pedal are very soft, similar to if there was air in the lines. This was not the case before the short. Is this possible? Does anyone know what could cause this?
Thanks for any help,
John

Dave,
2006 3Ltr.
I have checked all lines and fluids and I cannot see any leaks. Forgetting the short, what could cause the soft brake and clutch?
Thanks, John

The brakes are vacumm assisted. The clutch is just hydraulic.

Dunno, maybe the short damaged the seals. Highly unlikely though.

Yeh very strange. To make matters worse my closest dealership is almost 300kms away. Car is still under warranty. Thanks for your help, John.

Just a coincidence according to the service guys. They found a lose fitting on the brake line. They reckon the clutch was fine. See what happens.
