I need/want to replace the external mirrors on my spanish built D40. I can get them on E Bay but only seem to find ones with an indicator repeater in them whilst mine do not. Does anyone know if this model has the wiring for the "blinker" already in the mirror plug or am I going to have to do a bit of jiggery pokery on them. Would be a lot easier if the wiring was already there. Thanks guys/girls.

When I replaced my manual external mirrors on my Thai D40 I discovered it was only the Spanish that had indicators on the mirrors. The Thai have them in the guard. Initially I could only get a set from a Spanish and they did bolt straight on. I had to install the four way switch to. All the wiring was there and the electric mirrors worked immediately. They were earlier Spain with no indicators. Later on I scored a set of Thai power mirrors and swapped them out.

So considering you have a Spain there's more chance the indicator wires are there. I'd pull the door trim off and check out the connector with a multimeter or test light.

I have the Spanish D40 a d ran new cables to the BCM for the indicators. Alm info needed is in the D40 workshop manual electrical diagrams

I have a spain 2007 stx. I have swapped out orig for indicator mirrors, but would love to get a set of powered mirrors for it. Is this possible? I'd have to swap out the mirror controller panel on the dash, but I think the loom may be different.

I can't speak for the Spanish. There are lot's of differences between the Thai and Spain even though on first glance they look identical.

The electric mirrors will bolt straight in the question is if the wiring harness is in the door.

In my case with the Thai ... the wiring for the mirrors and four way switch was already in the cab but it didn't extend into the doors. When I bought my mirrors I also bought the wiring harness from the donor Thai dual cab for the front doors. The existing harness was identical other than the two or three wires and connector for the mirrors. It was a simple job to remove the existing harness and replace with the other. All the clips etc line up.

The connector for the four way switch was already in the cab so that was a simple case of removing the blanking plate, clip the switch into place and push on the connector. There was no programming of BCM's or any such thing. It was all plug and play.

First thing is to see if you've got the connector in the door to plug into a power mirror. There's a plastic cover inside the door behind the mirror that's simple to remove so you can see what you've got behind there.

So an update. Mirrors arrived today. Mirrors fitted straight up no problems. Problem is the wiring,The wiring in the door is only for the mirror no provision for the indicator repeaters. Have cut the plugs off the OLD mirrors and spliced them into the new harness without cutting off the new plug. Have run wiring to the indicators into the inside of the cab. Did this until such time as I can source the correct door harness. Where can I splice the indicator wiring temporarily? Is it feasible to use the harness that runs to the rear of the ute or is there a better way? The mirrors work perfectly by the way.

The indicator wiring hopefully is present at the connector inside the cab where the door harness plugs into. It's behind the kick plates just in front of the doors.

See PG-36 and 37 for the main harness. It's connectors M4 & M5 on the RHS and M89 & M90 on the LHS.

See PG-51 for the door harness.

Probably the easiest way is to probe the individual terminals in the connectors with a test light while the indicator is on to find the indicator wire (if it's there)
