Ecu/obd issue

Have an issue that I'm trying to hunt down

When I plug a code reader in i get a result that says the ecu is not communicating

Has Anyone got any experience with this?

Car is a 2007 navara d40 2.5d

Check the earth point for the ECU. This has been a problem for quite a few people.
