Know that feeling Highway Man, joined at 17, only thing I ever knew. Enjoying retirement and memories will remain forever, still feel like I'm serving. Lucky enough to retire here in Singleton, so I still catch up with some old mates out at the Infantry Center from time to time. For those who served any length in the Army covering Malaya, Vietnam to the late 90's they my have come across Arthur Frances CSC, OAM, retired RSM of the Army. Sadly Arthur passed away in his sleep 3 weeks ago here in Singleton, on his 70th birthday. He was a soldiers soldier and will be greatly missed by those who came into contact with him, bother during their service and in civilian street.
Old soldiers never die, they just fade away.
Regards

Retired last May after 3o years, was a Combat Engineer.

I wore 3 cap badges during my stints, RAE was the last one. They had too many Assault Pioneers at the time, so we were absorbed into a Field Engineer Sqn.

You were a WO2??? I was a lowly Cpl (did sub 1 for snake though)
