:sorry3: poor choice in wording there.... i wont let it happen again FB...

Can i ask How much does it cost?? for replacement if there is no other damage??

Round 3500 through a dealer. But everyone charges different. Spends on spares mark up also.
I didn't mean that to sound rude either mate :ha:

Haha sorry mate. There should never be any reason to change them unless they become loose or rattle. I've never seen one snap unless they were rattling before that.
Much more common in the VQ40.

well mine snapped WITHOUT warning, and haha sorry but ill problly go with 28 years of working on not only cars but choppers.so get em changed whenever you want it dont bother me,im not saying that they will break after this time but they sure as hell are weaker and with such a vital part why risk it.
im not trying to say anyone is wrong or right or that a chain wont last the life time of the engine,im giveing him an option as if i didnt and he decided to get his done at some point and the first mechanic that told him around the 3000 mark he would be happy and get the work done not knowing he could save thousands.

shit nissan qouted me 11000 and thats in townsville and there are genuine create engines for 7-8 online.dont know were the receptionest found it but i think they need a new buisness, found one with 147000 all highway never 4x4 4500 free postage from paradise auto

What you are saying is valid and now i know the cost of the parts it something i might look into, with some help from a mate of mine it is def on the cards. i would loose my shit if mine snapped. Might get more serious after warranty runs out.

I personally like to hear this sort of info and others opinions, its why i come on here .

recod mate

Who the hell are you getting your quotes off then? A brand new crate motor is only worth around that fitted with parts mark up. Nissan randomly drop the prices of these motors for a
Little bit at a time. Probably 3 months ago they were down at 9k crate motor with pump and all

im the same as many others i come here to listen to everyones experiences/opinions because it all helps, saved me a few grand and alot of time so far.
as said before im not saying anyone is wrong im just saying its the way i do it and give another idea/option

by highway i mean an old chick useing it as a run about around Adielade compared to a young bloke flogging it 4x4 and on dirt roads and bush or in the mines or a goverment fleet ute.

To be safe you're spending all that money anyways take the pump to a diesel specialist and have it tested. Might aswell get injectors flow tested of you're going a secon handy.
Probably add $1000 to the bill but it's good for peice of mind.

:rofl2: mate i think someone is already doing it... i had a heap of posts deleted the other day for expressing my opinion on a 7yr old D22 that the guys wants $26500 for it:adminpower::adminpower:
And i only pointed out that i would much prefer the 7yr old ute for 3k cheaper then a brand new one with new car warranty.....:sarcastic:
