Has anyone else had this pin break in their front diff? The car has 57,000km. Nissan suggest excessive force on the pin. I find it very hard to believe if there was excessive force that the pin was the weakest point. I would expect the gears or cv's to break first. Of course Nissan are knocking back the warranty claim.

I havent seen that pin break before but have seen a few other things go.
I snapped the main pinion shaft in mine which is three times thicker then that one and Nissan replaced the entire diff under warranty and the ute had about the same maybe more km then yours.

rare for cross pin to break. i would guess the gears where shimmed incorrectly. probably to loose on one side.

Seen that alot in my old kingswood....still cant forget the smell of warm diff oil.

Hey mate. Just seen your post. My front diff has also blown up however only have 17000km on it and was using just easy 4wdriving. I am currently trying to get people together that have also experienced the weak front diff problem as i am currently putting together a case to take nissan to court as they wouldnt warrant my front diff. Also anyone else please contact me if you have had a diff break on you especially if they did warrant it for you.
