Clutch change

Hi all, i have a 2008 D40 Diesel Spanish made. I was going to change the clutch release bearing and at the same time change the clutch. Someone told me that there are two sorts of clutch though and I won’t know which spec it is until I’ve taken the gearbox out. Is this true? I was going to order an aftermarket clutch ready to install it when I’ve removed the gearbox.

Hi, The 2008 will have a dual-plate clutch, the much stronger single-plate clutches started to come in with the Series 6 in 2012.
As an aside, I've just had my 300,000 km service done, and original clutch is just fine!
