Would it fit a 2012?

I have this exact bash plate on my 2012 model D40 and it fits fine. If I had the original plastic bumper on the front it would have slotted straight in.

However I did have to make some adjustments to make it fit with my bullbar but that is to be expected as my bullbar is an R51 pathfinder/navara bar which was (apparently) only ment to fit up to 2011 D40s but again, with a little adjustment to the mounting plate where it bolts to the chassis I got that too fit fine too.
