BRAINSTORM WITH ME:

The Topic:
Replace Navara D40 or any D22 or Frontier 'Primer bulb' with an Electric Fuel Pump on a toggle switch inside the Cabin 😅🤙
Reasons:
*So sick of the car not starting intermittently,
or conking out 1 second after starting & refusing to stay running until primed 2-6x
*Summer Heat seems to cause it
*The vehicle usually then behaves until next random start when it conks out
Solution ideas:
*Swap the primer for a basic electric fuel pump & a relay... with a switch inside the cabin to use a fuel pump to momentarily prime up the fiel filter instead of the stupid prehistoric primer.
Link to relay here on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1742742...kpuxqhzqow&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
*Create a bypass with a hard fuel hose to side of primer teed around it with a plumbing type tap, so can switch between the primer or bypass it entirely (experimental)
& could be a solution as the hose stays hard all the time, in the heat preventing the soft bs issue & if needing to prime can just flip the tap switch & have primer again

Thoughts!?

there is existing threads on this. plenty of sites have info as well.

the hardest part is the safety system and priming system. common way was to use an oil pressure sensor. there is also special relays that trip with impacts turning the pump off. that ebay relay sounds good but no tach signal to use in late model diesels. no sure if it would work with a crank sensor.

otherwise its just a case of getting a suitable pump, diesels pump huge amount is fuel around, use a one way valve in parallel as a bypass in case pump fails. prefilter may be needed.
