Here is (pics of) a 'complete' guide as comparison (my old one) - minus the plastic.

Where the chain has cut through on Murph's guide is a *solid* chunk of aluminium - save for the pin upon which the tensioner pushes on which is a a different material - and probably harder.

What did the top of the tensioner look like Murph? Also, did the chain itself show any signs of trauma?

Does the 2010 d40 have same problem with timing chain? When replaced with standard fair how long do they last just bought Navara withe 138'000 km RAC report came back fine but guessing they won't no what state its in?

Not cheap i know but definitely worth it
