hey team have my 2013 D40 and been having bit of a issue with hopefully my description gives you some insight and someone may have and idea to what could be causing it.

After driving for a period of time the abs and parkbrake lights will come on ( will flicker then eventually they turn off but the issue still continue) , and when this happens I loose parts of the dash, like the indicators will still work on the vehicle but not on the dash the. headlights will turn on even if they arnt on ,on the dash. the speedo and rev counter flicker up and down ,loose the window wipers and also the triphonic want work and 8 times out of ten the vehicle will still drive fine . But then when I stop and turn of it wont restart for a period of time

It sounds like how it behaves when the alternator isn't producing any power.

Can you monitor the voltage and let us know what volts you're getting? It should be over 13.5 and preferably around 14.1 to 14.4V.

I'll check it out and come back to you mate..I'm guessing just the ol multi meter at idle will be enough to gauge it ?

had to go buy new multi meter today...but flickers 14.41- 14.46 at idle

That's reasonable. I asked because the alternator dying is generally what causes those lights to come on. Ok, next ...

Does the car still have its original stereo or does it have a new one?

How long since the battery terminals have been cleaned well? I mean this procedure:

1) Connect jumper pack to battery leads and remove leads from starter battery (this keeps the car powered).

2) Using a wire brush (Dremel is ok but be gentle) clean the inside of each terminal clamp

3) Clean the battery posts too

4) Reconnect both terminals

I'd also suggest checking the fusible links for cracks.

Lastly, check the engine-side of the main earth lead from the battery. It sometimes corrodes on that end.
