16 inch wheels on 2013 ST

Hi all,
Ive just ordered a 2013 D40 ST and was told by nissan that i can't fit 16 inch steel rims on it.
Does anyone know why, Im assuming brakes may be bigger or has anyone managed to fit 16's to a 2013 ST?

Im sure you can, i run 16" rims on my 2012 ST and as far as i know there is no differences between the two models.

I think you will find its only the STX 550 that cant run them as they have different brakes with bigger callipers to help pull up the slightly heavier more powerful ute.
