hey was looking for some tips on where to start diagnosing my 2009 rx navara (spain). when using the headunit only one speaker plays audio. also im looking for the service manual 2009 model. can only find 2007 frontier. is it the same manual???

thanks

The 2006 to 2010 cars were nearly identical. Frontier (USA) is the same as the Navara (rest of the world) except the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

With most of the speakers not working, I'd suspect a cable problem behind the stereo before looking elsewhere, because what are the chances that all 3 doors have the same problem? It could be an earthing problem (easy enough to add a test wire from a bolt under the dash to the door latch and see if that speaker starts behaving, then it IS an earth issue) but I'd suspect the more common part first.

i have actually got the same problem but i just find it hard to believe that all 4 door speakers and both dash speakers are all dead at the same time. i have unplugged and replugged the ones behind the dash top fascia with no difference but there appears to be plugs that are not there. are they behind the cd player or something? the satnav dvd under the driver seat seems to do nothing as well wonder if thats a part of it? cars new to me so im a bit lost until i start to get my head round it all.

What year model is yours? Is the head unit original or has it been replaced?

I replacedi the stock stereo with a nice Touchscreen head unit & wired it all up myself correctly & carefully

I noticed some month's later on Driver sidei only have a tweeter going. Still sounds good all round, but way better when randomly once a blue moon i hear the drivers door speaker going again. On mine something must be up with i think maybe stock wiring that goes to the dooe somewhere behind the steering wheel..

I know that the random times it came back on it was during turning the wheel, and would later go out again same day or drive.

Wire might be a bit caught up, or a bad earth to that speaker

Mines an 05 D40 Aventura boss, the one with the satnav under the driver seat and the 6cd player in the centre console. Screen at the very top then a little wiggly stick and buttons for nav radio cd player etc etc. external GPS under the fascia panel.
I'll have to upload a pic somewhere if ya don't know the one I mean I'm not up on forums lol
No it's all stock currently.

That's what I want to do but I don't see the point if the speaker looms are knackered I'm not digging through the whole car to fix them I can't be bothered I'll just chuck a bt speaker on the back seat 😂

Did you replace the speakers as well or just the head unit?

Very common for the speakers to fail apparently.

Yours does actually sound like the loom between the car and the door but also as you go round corners it leans a bit it might be a dry solder joint in the speaker itself which comes apart slightly.
I've just ordered a full set of 4 speakers as a first point of call. For 99 quid I don't see it as the end of the world I'd spend that easily on a single night out 😂😂.

Could very well be bothered those things.

Appreciate your reply.
