2003 zd30 fuel pump issues maybe

I had an interesting problem similar to your description.
Engine light flashing on, restart was all good and then suddenly go doughy and light come on.
Long story short, check the physical condition of the MAF sensor. Mine had a pinhole in the membrane which stuffed up all the parameters. I found it when I squirted MAF sensor cleaner in every orifice except mine......
Sealed it with a dob of silastic and away she went.
There is no MAF sensor on the navara zd30 engine. its MAP only.
 
i think i know what they where looking at. i can't remember exactly what its called (ICV%) but its to do with the duty cycle for the timing solenoid. there is a few write up on the patrol forums of this. as the pump wears the duty cycle changes changes, so it gives an idea of if the pump is worn out.
however that duty cycle also changes due to things like blocked filters, sucking in air etc. so its not always indicating a bad pump.

i can't remember if its spill valve or timing valve. i think its timing valve related as the ecu gets feed back from the injection pump timing sensor and adjusts from that. sorry i'm rather rusty it was many years ago now.
 
Hello, often the engine temperature error occurs due to loss of insulation when entering the passenger compartment, this is diagnosed by a scanner, the error is not erased, you delete the error, and it immediately appears before the engine starts, there are two temperature sensors on the engine, one goes to the dashboard indicator, the second is the main one, to the engine control unit, it affects the error. According to error 073, this is a problem in the injection pump itself and its control unit, you cannot allow the injection pump to remain without fuel, overheating occurs in the microcircuit, I think the mechanic is right and you will have to repair the injection pump.
