Brand new Tough Dog Front struts on a D22.
Local well regarded shop says that is normal but cracks in a weld in a high stress object just seems.. off to me so I was just after a second or 22nd opinion.

I've only ever bought 1 pair of shockies in my time so have no idea lol
Keen for your input :)

that looks more like bad paint and its the paint thats cracked. i would scrap the paint back and check.
if its actually cracked i would expect oil to be leaking.

btw how long have they been used for? or did you put old bushings in?

They'd been in for only a few days when I took those photos, I've had them in for a little over 2 weeks now.
Those are the bushes that came with, that's paint you can see. Tough Dog must paint their shocks with the bushes already in?

Good call on the leaking oil, alleviates some stress.
The little voice(s) in my head question the paint cracking like that though. Is odd.

Definitely a good idea to see what's under that paint though, thanks for that.
I wonder if that would void the warranty as well...
