Hey guys,

My pumps died in the old nav. I've come across a full zd out of a patrol with an engine knock (taking a gamble I know) for a good price. I've heard the pumps are the same and should work, but never come across someone who has successfully said they've done it. Anyone tried? Most diesel places advertise them as Patrol/Nissan on their websites so it doesn't seem like there are two different variants. Only thing I could think that'd be different is the psg on the top. If anyone has tried this and been successful, let me know!

i've heard conflicting info over the years. some say it has to be exactly the same part number, others say it doesn't matter.
in theory they are the same pump, when they get reco'ed its all the same parts including the cpu on top.
the patrols tended to blow the pistons, the pump is probably still alright.

of course make sure its the vp44 pump zd30 not the common rail zd30.

Thanks mate. He said he'd bought it and it's supposedly reconditioned. The pump and other components on the engine do look fairly new.
