So I am putting on a 3" exhaust Cat back with a hot dog system. And looking at a Hi flow turbo upgrade from YD25? anyone had any dealings with that turbo? I have the exhaust so while it is off change out the turbo at the same time. probably will have to get a tune after as well. Any comments appreciated.

PS the Engine has just done around 30K since install, Been on a trip towing a caravan from Tassie to Darwin via Brissy and Townsville and back. Car went well apart from the trailer harness and a couple of other issues (My Fault)

So I bit the bullet and got the Hi Flo from YD25. I will swap out the exhaust manifold as well for an aftermarket steel due to the issues with cracking. And the tune that I have will be ok for these mods.

What motor are u doing this to? ZD30 ?
 
So the Exhaust has a bung for an EGT that I bought placed about 300m from the Turbo Flange. As I am replacing the manifold for a steel one would it be worth the effort to have a EGT bung placed in the manifold just prior to the Turbo. Drill a hole in the heat shield as well to allow refitment. From what I have read there are pros and cons for each placement. It just seems a bit further down the exhaust than what I was expecting it to be.
 
pre turbo is far more accurate, especially when using custom turbo's. however you must get the tip in the center of the gas flow.
 
When it comes I will have a look. Engineering shop next door so they will be doing it. After looking at the manifold the heat shield wont be going back on either.
