hey thanks for replying, 4wd def disengaged...can engage and disengage 4wd aswell but the light does not come off

That's really weird!! I don't have a d40 but that icon is what shows up when my d22 is in 4wd.

Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal turn on lights.make sure there is no power left.then reconnect terminal again.

Think it is the factory diff lock light. But have never seen one with the factory diff lock installed.

I had that one flashing when I had a broken abs sensor.
When I switched to 4wd, but it wouldn't engage, that light was on all the time.

Also comes on when switched back to 2wd, but there is still a load on the centre diff. Used to just drive it out.
