gday fellas had to get back under the hood again today of the nissan navara stx turbo d 2.5 ltr auto 4x4 2008 having look at the turbo again while turning the turbo fan i noticed that there was a bit of play not much but its there would that stop the turbo from boosting or working when towing ive cleaned ,checked all hoses ,could that be the prob, under load might jam or not turn right cant really hear it working because of the traffic noise i think read a post that points to the bearing in the turbo, can you replace / fix the bearing/ or new turbo, the turbo is a garrett m24 fc-2 .regards poogie:violin2:

Is it a plain bearing turbo or a ball bearing turbo ?

plain bearing have alot of play--- whereas ball bearing have zilch

There is meant to be the slightest amount of play in a bushed turbo so an oil film can be created, but as said if it's a ball bearing, no play.
