I was recently in the Vic high country, driving up Mt Gibbo.
When I stopped I was alerted by my mates following me that I was leaving a large oil slick. When i climbed under the front end of my STX-550 I found that a hole, probably caused by a rock, in the oil cooler. Luckily, there was a bit of oil left in the sump. I patched the hole with some metal putty while my mates headed into Corryong to get oil. We got down the next morning & I made it home (400km). My Navara is now known as Exxon Valdez. But WHY the F*%k
would an auto engineer put something so vulnerable in such a stupid location?
Underbody armour is definitely going on before the next trip. Any recommendations??
