Hey guys I recently changed my diesel filter on my 03 zd30,
Since then I ran stranger for a few days, the idle was slow to drop and stalled twice in one day like it was out of fuel, pumped the primer up and she started straight up after that it came good for a week and a half untill last night it started to drop to idle slow agan and stalled on me, same thing again pumped the primer and away she went again.

Does any one have any ideas as to wtf is going on, I need to know asap as im heading to the snow this saturday afternoon and I dont need it stopping on me on the hwy

Cheers CD

Sounds like your getting air in somewhere. One of the smarts will come along soon to help you out.

Yeah thats what I figured, thanks lep, I hope someone smart shows up soon lol

I'm more of a smart-arse than smart per se but, after similar problems that turned out to be a cracked fuel line coming out of the primer pump, I feel your pain.

Your symptoms fit the above diagnosis pretty well: air getting in will make it run poorly & stall.

Have search through old posts - there's some tips somewhere on how to check for air getting in.

common fault is sucking in around the filter seals. especially if the bottom seal around the water sensor is not changed. also check the filter is on tight enough.
otherwise it can be the hose ends, sometimes the clamps don't hold very well. or the primer itself can leak.
