driving home today and out of nowhere i hear the sound of air escaping and a bit of a loss of power.

pull over check all the hoses and joins on the intercooler piping... turns out one of the silicon joins has burst.

has anyone else had this? i thought they were sposed to be pretty tough, im only running 16-17psi boost.

so any way i taped it up and limped all the way home but its still leaking so i need a new 135degree 1.75 inch silicon joiner asap turns out they arent all that common. anyone know where i might be able to pick one up without having to order online.

Geez that burst almost looks straight enough to have been done with a knife. Freaky!

They are supposed to be stronger than standard hoses, that's the whole reason for getting them (it is not true that the car will go faster with blue hoses rather than black).

As above, I've seen the things at SCA and Autobarn.

it could just be a cheap hose but not a bad idea to try to use a metal replacement.
