Show Me Your Hard Lid! (Custom?)

Hi, looking at all the fibreglass $$$$NZD hardlids got me wondering
When we go camping - I dont want a canopy, I'd rather have a hard lid that I can chuck some rails down the side of and put a trailer net etc on to hold the waterproof stuff

Now it got me thinking about making a nice alloy gas strutted hinged etc hard lid

Anyone on here done one?

Cant be more than the asking prices in NZ for a fibre one that cant take the weight on top?
