I have a 2010 D40 Navara ST that has 35000km on it. It is Stock standard other than the 17 inch wheels and the few accessories (canopy, second battery). i have had it to Nissan with the rear suspension sagging and bottoming out. Nissan to ld me that it had sagged 65mm from the standard height and that they wanted me to have it weighed so i did. It was 600 kg under its GVM. There is only about 150kg in the back at all times which includes the canopy, the second battery and my 85 litre waeco fridge. Nissan Australia then came back with the answer that it was within the specs of the car. So i then took it to Pedders to have it tested and it came back on the repot saying the rear springs and shocks have faild and it was recomended that they be replaced. Once again Nissan Australia said it was within the specs.
Has any one else had this problem with their car and with Nissan and has anyone got a solution to get Nissan to fix this problem without me having to spend thousands on a car that should realy be covered by warrenty.

yeah its bullhit mate, nissan just expect everyone to roll over and deal with it, try fair trade if they won't play nice i guess

I didn't try pursuing mine with Nissan. I just went to ARB and had them fit Dakar dual-rate leaf springs in the rear, OME HD coils up front and OME Nitrocharger Sports shocks all around.

I am stoked with the suspension and the ground clearance, for towing, for off-roading and normal driving. Performance on corrugations is superb.

mine only lasted a week' with full intension of replaceing springs from the get go because none of these 4x4s are built for the scub standed

So you did the suspension upgrade OT. I got a quote for OME suspension and bash plates last weekend when I was in there complaining about something else .

You obviously decided against the Sax rears. Any reason for the change of heart?

Yes, it was easier to get it done in one shop and the Dakar springs are dual-rate which is enough for me. I was going to get Bilstein shocks to go with the Sax springs but they don't have the heat dissipation rate of the Nitrocharger Sports, and that's something very important with the loads I tend to carry. It was partly convenience and partly superior product.

Having finished the 4WDing for the weekend and going over some very uneven ground, I must say that I am thoroughly impressed by the suspension and by the D40 itself. If my airbox was intact there were a couple of mud puddles I could have gone through too, but I used the chicken tracks just in case - I didn't want water in it!

I had a similar problem with my work Holden Colorado. Yes its a Holden and it is always gonna drive like.crap but its a free work ute. Took it to 3 Holden dealers as 2 said that the springs were within specs and the third said they needed to be reset and springs added as they were shot with the load that was on it. Once again its a work Ute not my personnel as I would of put some hd springs in to Start with
