Thanks for the info on the 2002/2005 having a stronger chassis and draw bars will have to look for one that age.
If you dont mind me asking how much did the Cruisemaster independent suspension system cost you.

G, day folks,

For any enquiries regarding retrofitting your Jayco or any other camper trailer from an axle configuration to an independent suspension set-up please contact Vehicle Components in Queensland on (07) 3624-3800. Check out their website www.vehiclecomponents.com.au on top of the menu bar scroll across to News, click on Galleries all, then click on Jayco beam axle to coil suspension retrofit.

Note that they have many other type camper trailer and caravan axle to coil suspension retrofit projects for viewing.

Cost of Cruisemaster kit to suit Jayco Hawk is $ 2,000.00. Cost to have Vehicle components to fit the Cruisemaster kit to a Jayco Hawk could be between $2,200 and $2,500.

I got my mate Rob at ROB’S Sheetmetal Fabrication in Coffs Harbour to fit my Cruisemaster kit. Rob has converted other types of camper trailers from an axle configuration to a Cruisemaster independent suspension set-up in the past. Rob, specialises in building all types of trailers, especially off-road custom built camper trailers. Rob charges between $1,200 and $1,500 dollars to convert a Jayco Hawk. You can contact Rob on 0438-614-838.

If you have the welding skills you could save yourself over a $1,200.00 if you do the job yoursell. If do not want to travel to Brisbane or Coffs harbour for the fitting of your kit, then get a quote from mate or steel fabricator in your local area.

Vehicle components supply all fitting instructions with their kits and provide any assistance on the phone.

Please note: You can still utilise the original Jayco 15in wheels and tyres. I only decided on 16inch wheels and tyres to suit as a back-up emergency to my Nissan Patrol. This was based on if I ever had more than two damaged tyres on the Patrol I could use the camper trailer wheels to get me out of trouble.

I hope this information is a help to you all. Any further inquiries please do not hesitate and ask me.

PS, also note that this is not the end of the modifications to the Jayco stay tuned, I cannot help myself, I just have to modify things!

Regards,

Paul (RLI)

G, day Jason,

The Coromal are a great bit of kit, far better quality finish than the Jayco but it came down for budget for my wife and I. For $20,000 dollars i have built the best value for money camper to suit our needs.

I wish you all the best with your future camping trips.

PS, all the best selling your Market direct camper, try advertising on the forum.

Solitary Island Marine Park Resort!

G’day Trendsetters!

My family and I had three fantastic days at Wooli on the Mid North coast of NSW. We stayed at the Solitary Island Marine Park Resort situated on the banks of the fabulous Wooli River. This time around we spoiled ourselves and indulged on a powered ensuite site. (With the wife pregnant, I had no farken choice!) Just kidding dear!!!!!!!!!

IMG_1256.jpg

Wooli is only 60ks from home (Woolgoolga) 50 mins up the road (or about 300ks south of Brisbane / 600ks north of Sydney via the Pacific Highway.) A typical old fashioned sea-side holiday town, situated in the Yuragir National park with a couple of caravan parks, a bowling club, post office and a take-away food shop and not to forget the fresh seafood co-op!(fantastic oysters)

IMG_1294.jpg

The Park Resort where we stayed had the local hotel/bottle-shop right next door, including the servo and local mini supermarket (OK farken micro-mini supermarket!) Anyhow, it stocked everything you would need ie, milk, bread, newspapers, fruit/veg, hot take away food, tent pegs and bait, you get the drift! The Park also had its own bar (The Top Deck Bar) and coffee shop (Fletchers Cafe.)

The local hotel is fantastic, just been extensively renovated and caters for the family, shit-hot pizzas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The resort also provides free kayaks and canoes, great swimming pool, jumping pillow, 18 hole mini golf course and most important a boat ramp for the big kids! Ye-haa baby!!!!!!!!

The river sites allow you to moor your boat (if you are lucky to own one!) right out-front of your site. Or if you are like me just hire one from the park, or fish from the bank. The fishing and crabbing are great. You can even charter the local fishing guru to take you off-shore to catch the big-one or dive to see the ones that got away! Also great surfing and wind-sailing if you want to catch a wave!

Ha Haa, I hear you say lounge lizards, “How much does this lot cost!” Well Trendsetters!

A normal powered site costs $28.00 per day, a Powered River site cost $38.00 per day, and an en-suite cost $48.00 per day that’s for 2 adults and a further $ 8.00per child. They also have various cabins and cottages for hire. They are also pet friendly!!

TRENDSETTERS, that’s not all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you mention my name RLI/Paul and this either the Navara or Nissan Patrol forums to Jan & Richard you will get a further 10% discount of your total bill and (NO I will not throw in a set of farking steak knives!)

Or, i nearly forgot, they even have the Australian Goanna Pulling championships for all you Goanna pullers out-there! (I am talking about farken four legged variety)

PS, Great 4x4 tracks in the Yuragir National park. I am heading back in two weeks, to do some great exploring, I will keep you posted!

Regards,

RLI
