It's going to take me 2 hrs to get there.... Why ray could you not live closer to the sunny coast. I'm still out at the mine so I will try to organize myself when I get home.

if you get there at 9:30 it shouldnt be an issue. we can get stuck into installing other stuff or just chatter why we wait. maybe even set up a bunch of ramps ready for cars just to drive onto. i will have 2 sets of ramps(maybe). im thinking i may stick my chip in on friday save us doing it saturday and people can test drive my car with it done us a comparison to there utes.

remembering i only have a 2.5" exhaust system fitted not 3" like others recommend.

Rusty

OH anything you else you want us to bring Ray?

Really guys, get there whenever you can, theres no schedule or anything, just rock up.

As far as things to bring, just any extra food/drinks you would like, we have snags/salad/rice/bread. Hopefully the rain stays away.

ok well i might stop in and grab some chips and lollies for everyone to nibble on while we work. maybe a party mix and couple bags of chips.

Thanks again Ray for opening up your yard for this event. Should be an awesome day. hopefully by the next day ill have my own house and a yard to puddle in. :S

It will be fun, I always find it easier to work on my cars with other people around, usually its just me. If I'm feeling slack I'll ring my mate who lives at Norman Park and say come down and we'll wash the cars and have a couple of beers, :cheers!:

Anyway, heres some piccies, should be more than enough room, there'll be 2 bays in the shed once I finish cleaning it out :sarcastic:, room for 2 cars in the carport, flat grassed area in front of the house, driveway, side of the shed, back yard, pick a spot and have fun, lol. I'll probably cut up that log and move the rest of it before then. (Scottybobcat dropped that tree for me many months ago)

the more heads the better hehe. everyone has a different view and many views can make easy fixing :D.

how do you find the 275/70/16 size tire on the nav. does it drain any power? i find the 265/75 muds eat to much power. and once the 265/70s goes back on it goes alot better. tire place has asked why dont i got 275/70 and i was just like i dont wanna drain power out of the car. hehe

Mmmm, I don't know powerwise Rusty as they were on their when we bought the Nav. I was going to go back to normal 265/70 when these wear out, but I'm used to the larger ones, so will probably stick with the 275s

If anyone has any special air tools they want to bring, I've got a compressor as well, forgot to mention that. One thing I wouldn't mind doing during the course of the day Russ is hopefully borrowing 2 of your wheels to put on my Nav to check how the black steelies look. (Trying to convince Mrs Ray!) Are the steels heavier than the factory alloys?

Now, wheres that postman with my airbox??

ah yeh ok ill try and fit the steelies in the back with the rest of the gear. i have the standards back on so the wife can drive it hehe. ill shove them in.

yes the steels are heavier but they also have a heavier tire on it. i do notive the powerloss with the muds fitted but you just adjust the driving style.

Gees you are quick Russ. Actually, don't worry about trying to bring/rims and tyres over, thought they were on the truck already. I'm going to do some photoshopping with our Nav, and will probably take Als original alloys off him to get powdercoated eventually.

Man, I've got to get off this forum and do some work! :sarcastic:

Looks like i'll be missing this one. I got offered free accom on the first chicane of the Gold Coast 600 this weekend so I'm going to head down for a look.

Got an email from Zordo as well...it doesn't sound like the bashplates will be available this week.

yeh mate, i took them off cause i needed to clean the rest of the car undercarraige and couldnt with them on. plus the other wheeels use less fuel. ill fbring one over so u can try it on.

i posted on als selling thread hehe. i only need 1 :D

see you saturday morning shoud be fun. Hoping these bashplates come in

doesnt look like the bash plates will be in.
Ill give zordo a call on friday afternoon to confirm.
just means there will be less work to do and more time for drinking beer.

got my snorkel ready for install :)
will be good to have people there who have done it b4. should make it a bit quicker and less stressful.
Rusty or Al, if you could bring your sharp 90ish mm hole saw along that would be great. ive got a 92mm but it is a bit dull, dont want it to grab and twist the guard.
see you all Saturday.

I will be getting my custom bash plates this arvo. Just have to make sure I have all the gear to fit it and I'll be good to go. Also planning to do a catch can on Saturday if I get the time. Should be a good day.

Snorkel install, excellent! If I manage to somehow get this Toyota airbox installed, that will be my next job.

Hey guys, If I can get definites on who is coming over on Saturday that would be great. Still have a lot of deck/shed cleaning to do before them too, :sarcastic:

Ill be there Ray. Ill give ya a hand with the air box as well. Mine is a petrol one of a 1FZF motor and the outlet is 3.25" so I had to get a reducer to make it 3". You just need some sheet metal for a few brackets.

Great! I see the reducer in your photo in the garage. I'll have to measure the airbox outlet when I get home tonight, and see what else I will need. I'll probably need some of that Memorex flexible intake tubing in 3" dia that supercheap etc have, plus some metal for brackets as you mentioned. I'll have to move the EGR canister, catch can etc to make room as well, but with a few heads there should be a lot easier than me on my own, :cheers!:
