this will be a copy pasta from another site, this was my transition from navara owner to toyota maniac, i found a lot of options and possibilities that wouldnt of happened with the navara, and here they are...


i sold my old car (an 08 2.5td navara 4x2 that was a wannabe 4x4 with cooper atr 225/75R16 from the original 185R14's, navara 225 spotties, uniden uhf, few other bits):

the nav at mundaring powerlines where it only got stuck on ONLY 2 sections

when i first got it: (however not long before these pics i had the tray sandblasted to get rid of all the rust and i painted it up with some KillRust paint, also i put my hi lift jack on the rear bar)

then this happened on the freeway doing 110km/h...

so i bought some 35x13.5R16 maxxis mudzillas for play (5 on rims with 95% tread for $1500

then i was at mundaring one weekend with my mate, i was in the mud when my front left CV let go so it was on stands for a while, and a pic of the smashed CV. at this point i did a full rebuild of the front end where i did all new bearings, chromoly CV's, custom seals, swivel hubs, locking hubs, slotted rotors, new pads, etc

then i got a new exhaust system put in (genie extractors with 2 resonators end to end with a tip ending just past the cab)

i got sick of my rear tail lights screwing up and stop working from corrugations so i got these super bright LED lights off ebay lil comparison pic of old and new next to each other

with me doing a lot more camping i decided to throw in a dual battery kit (redarc isolator, a $50 2nd hand local ebay battery holder, big fuse holders and all wiring bought from and crimp by autopro canningvale

again with more camping on the cards i decided to convert that spare tyre/oxy bottle holder setup behind the cab into a spare/engel carrier which is lockable so i can keep it running at work or when out in town

then i took out most of the interior stuff so i could line the bottom and the back wall with a soft rubber matting to stop all the rattles and vibrations of stuff that i keep behind my seats (my mate riding shotgun haha), i also put in a remote locking system that i got off ebay for 30 bucks

then on one long weekend i stripped her of all her barwork so that it could be all repainted

the next day we stripped my snorkel and did my rims since they were a bit rusty and rough

then i went to the mundaring powerlines with a few mates for a play i love my front auto lokka and its got decent flex for nearly stock!

my mate and i got some 42's for our slow build comp crawler as the price was so low and the rims bought separately were a bargain! couldnt say no! and after fitting them to the rims at the house we had a bit of fun and tried to fit them to the 75... WHICH IT DID!

then at a mates party/gathering at his farm some stupid ******* rocked my car and ended up with a buggered windscreen but it only took about 3 days to get sorted

recently i went to the coastal 4x4 ramp day to check out the cars, and after some convincing by my mate i decided to put the 75 up it haha (those 11 leaf rear springs didnt help at all!)

i then decided to change the old ass crappy seat over for a bucket/race seat that i got off my mate for $50 UNUSED

then at work the other day i decided to make up some extended shackles with a template i made by scaling a picture of extended shackles from the internet haha, got them on the front and rear

and there is more to come with time and money such as a canvas canopy, front bilsteins with shock hoops, rear leaf springs (so i can finally get rear flex), possibly a rear locker... and maybe a prototype sprintex supercharger hehe


forgot to update this thread!

so about a week and a half ago i decided to fit my new 16,800lb winch i got cheap cheap into my NON winch bar hehe

i also got some 36x12.5R15 simex centipedes with 80% tread for cheap and fitted them up

so these arrived from the USA today 12" bilsteins which are NICEEEE hehe

also getting a 60 series front diff centre with an auto lokka in it to throw in my rear diff as a full replacement, so its got low KM and will bolt right in yay haha, also got it for a bargain.


spent today swapping the rear lsd out with the 60 front open with lokka in it.

only thing that had to be changed was swapping the drive shaft flange.

goes perfect!

that PING noise going up the 2nd part was the rear shock maxing out aha, also does anyone elses front auto locker sound like that? i've always had it making that sort of click clunk

that supercharger i just bought set me back 950 hehe

standard boost is around 8 i think? and i'll custom fit the intercooler, will probably chop up the supercharger pipe work and reroute it to how i want
