Hi everyone!

I am in the cooling off period of buying a 2008 D22 STR 2.5 ltr Nissan Navara.

I don't know anything about these engines as far as reliability and faults goes.

this car won't be used as a work car ie heavy towing etc. Also I heard they are hard to get parts for and most parts have to be imported .... is this true??

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

Dan

Ummm not really.

They are pretty reliable as long as there maintained.

Did some Yota drivers tell you that ?

4.2's will do a billion km's apparently.

Gday and :welcome: to the forum..

Have had NO probs with mine so far...I'm happy with its performance.
I have same model and have had no need for engine parts thus far, though I must add mine is low on mileage.

Accessories, (Nissan) i have had no probs getting, all in stock.
As for some people waiting long periods for a diff, yes,
but i really dont expect to be wanting one of those anytime soon,
so, dont stress, go and get your Nav and have fun...

:cheers!:

I recently was reading a article on problems with the new common rail engines, I'm pretty sure it was in the last 2 editions of 4wd action. These problems were not limited to the navs but was a general common rail thing. Like it has been said already.... If you maintain it well should not be a problem.

Thanks for the advice, I am just goung by what people tell me NOT Yota drivers. Thats why i thought i would ask people who already own these cars and have an idea of their pros and cons Thanks again- Dan

Yes all parts, bar a few accessories will be imported because simply the truck is not built here....same as the others.
Just some bother to keep more stock in Australia than others.

Myth busted.

Another thing to remember is unlike Yotas we have international aftermarket shopping available. Our trucks are available world wide so we get US and UK manufacturers making bits for our trucks.
