Very happy with my d22 but a couple of months back it developed a vibration/ flutter noise around 2000rpm, not a nice noise!

took it to 3 different service centres and no one could diagnose the problem one had no idea, one wanted to start ripping off the exhaust manifold and investigating the turbo and the other basically said there was nothing they could do and I shouldn't worry.

:banghead: grrr...

took it back to nisscare after I spent ages on forums etc and had a few ideas of what it could be.. A young apprentice came out and held the air intake/ filter box and it stopped haha loose mounts..

Very happy! but its a worry.

Its hard to find a mechanic who doesn't just look at a diagnostic tool for his answers. You have to find a shop with old blokes in it that are keen to help you out just not take your cash. As Bryce said this is why I prefer to do my own work on the car and only send it in for its log book service when its needed.

I need to find such diesel mechanic in Adelaide, ive been recommended to see Llordon diesel but I think their expensive, plus most good mechanics like weekends off in their 4wd's.

I feel a bit silly too being a simple problem haha, but I certainly don't know a hell of a lot about turbo diesels!
